[edit] Story

The story is basically the same to the manga. Although names, such as Minako, have been changed due to non-english or american names.

Mina is an average 13 year old girl who likes to hang out with her friends and admire boys, especcially idols (Singers). One day Mina is told by a talking cat, just after she takes a bath, that she is Sailor V, warrior princess of the planet venus! Mina mistakes this as a dream the day after. However, when a youma appears and attacks a student at her school, the cat reappears and tells her to transform into Sailor V by using the pen he gave her. She does so and, after defeating the enemy, realizes that it is her destiny to protect everyone. Artemis (the cat) becomes her partner and mentor and they work together to keep the town, and world, at peace.

[edit] Characters

[edit] Major

Mina Aino (Sailor V)

Mina is a thirteen year old seventh grader who loves to hang our with friends and dreams of finding love one day. One day she is told by a talking, white cat that she is Sailor V, warrior of the planet venus. Mina sees this as a dream and decides to ignore it. Whilst trying to find her love interest, Higashi, and give him her love letter, she realises that he 'loves' another girl. However, Higashi turns into the youma Narkissos and attacks the girl. Mina sees this and is once again told by the cat that she is Sailor V. He throws her a pen and Boss tells her to transform. Holding up the pen, Mina says " Crescent V Power" and transforms into Codename: Sailor V. She uses her first attack, Crescent Beam, to defeat the enemy and realises that it's not a dream. With Artemis by her side, she fights to protect the people she loves from the Dark Agency.

Mina is also featured in the follow-up manga "Sailor Moon" where she becomes Sailor Venus and gains more attacks.

Mina's original Japanese name, Minako Aino, contains 5 kanji and is said to mean "Minako of Love". Minako, meaning beautiful child, would make this mean "Beautiful Child of Love". This suits her well. Mostly, because she is the soldier of love and beauty and fights in the name of Venus (Aphrodite), the goddess of love.

Hikaru Sorano

Hikaru is a sweet girl whom has been friends with Mina since elementary school. She admires Sailor V, but seems to have no idea that she is actually Mina. Hikaru is the vice president of a volunteer organisation. She has been compared to Ami Mizuno (Sailor Mercury) from the manga series "Sailor Moon" in the way that she looks.

Hikaru's name can be translated as "Bright Sky", but both her given name and family name are very common in Japan, so the meanings are irellevant

Mina's Mom Is a housewife. Much of the time she is seen disciplining Minako for her bad deeds.

Andy Andy is a cute guy who works at crown, one of Mina's intrest his name in the manga is Motoki Furuhuta.

Umino Geeky friend of Mina's and Hakura's Much similar to Melvin in the Sailor Moon series.

Artemis Artemis is Mina's cat who trains her to be Sailor V the ultimate fighting champ. He is also in the Sailor Moon Series.

[edit] Edits and Cuts

In the manga, there are 15 episodes. known as chapters in the comic book. In the Series there are 20 episodes, the first 15 episodes are pratically identical to the manga, with a few changes, these 15 episodes we're known as the first ever arc of Codename: Sailor V. The last 5 episodes 16-20 we're created fully by Jamie Connolly, which he used clips from previous episodes, and edited them in ways which made it difficult to spot the changes. Such as in episode 16, where most of the edits were changed, the shot of Sailor V when she first killed the yoma Narkisos in episode one, was used, but this time flipped and her hair was thinner than the first episode. Hakura was given a hair clip, in the manga she was never given a hair clip, the hair clip was shown in episode 12 when she was complaining that her hair was too short but always got in the way. Mina then gave her the hair clip. In the first episoe Haneda (In the maga) was a girl who liked Higashi, she had three - four lines in the Manga, but in the onlie series she was only heard of, she never spoke. The good thing was, that most of the script was barely changed in the first episode only 5 lines and scenes we're changed.
